This weekend I’ve been having a play around with the colours included in the Pantone spring colour lineup - love all of them! There are endless combinations to consider for your wedding, all fresh and pretty and effortlessly current. This is one of my favourites (and so easy to use) - trendy aqua always makes an impact, especially against the palest of pinks, and russet provides a great neutral contrast. It works perfectly with pretty garden wedding details, cupcakes, chandeliers, ruffles and, of course, peonies. (Will I ever get tired of these? Don’t think so!) Just add gues... |

Being a bride who is currently planning her own weddings, I find today’s feature something to aspire to! The level of personalisation and detail that went into this day absolutely astounds me, and as I’m not generally one who likes things matchy matchy, I’m completely won over by the bride and groom’s attention to the small things and how they all tie together to create a beautiful, touching and fantastic day. Thank you so much to Kristin Spencer for sharing these photos, they are STUNNING! Ollie and Kait met on holiday while mountain biking in the Atlas Mountains in Morocco (as you do... |
Sometimes you want your cocktail to say “America.” I know I do. So with July 4th on the horizon, I decided to create a red, white and blue striped beverage to toast our country. I figured learning to layer a drink would be easy enough. I was wrong. Not that I was unprepared. I did some research on layering drinks and discovered heavy liquids should go at the bottom, lighter ones at the top. So I decided to start with a grenadine syrup-based concoction; blue curacao would be my middle; and a light, white-ish Prosecco would top the whole thing off. The layers would be in the nontraditional... |
As New York wraps up its Fashion Week 2010, Pantone, the world renown authority on color has released their Pantone Fashion Color Report for Spring 2011! The gorgeous colors are: Honeysuckle, Coral Rose, Peapod, Beeswax, Silver Peony, Russet, Regatta, Blue Curacao, Lavender, and Silver Cloud. I can see a lot of Silver Peony and Silver Cloud weddings on the horizon as those are just such classic colors and Blue Curacao would just accent the gorgeous, ever popular peacock feather themed weddings perfectly. ... |
SERIOUSLY!!! The color alone is enough to die for. It reminds me of cool vintage fabric my mother had. AMAZING! Like an Otter Pop for grown-ups. This week Bar Manager Mark Anthony mixed up Grape Vodka, Triple Sec, Blue Curacao, Sweet and Sour Mix, a splash of 7-up, layered grenadine at the bottom of the glass and a cherry garnish. Happy Friday! ... |

Trying to pick a cool theme? I absolutely love these winter-inspired details from Alicia and Steven's wedding in Detroit. The black-and-white escort cards stamped with aqua snowflakes and attached to aqua ribbon are sophisticated and seasonal. They also tie in with the signature cocktail -- a "sleightini" -- made with vodka, blue curacao and lemon. If you don't want a seasonal theme, then go for something color coordinated. Your caterer can dye almost any cocktail to match your color scheme -- think purple champagne! Photo by Arising Images Check out green ... |
