Green is one of my favorite colors so when they announced the Pantone Colors for 2011 I was excited to see peapod green included. The light color or peapod feels very clean and springy to me. And spring means weddings! This color can appear in all aspects of your wedding from attire, to flowers to the wedding cake. It is a nice idea to mix the different greens with the peapod greeen and even incorporate some whites and ivories in with the florals for a very clean and simple look. For this week’s fashion fix I decided to switch things up a bit. Instead of just focusing on one specific color from Pantone’s Spring 2011 Color Report, I decided to select one color and branch off of it. Because let’s be honest, not everyone can pull off the exact hue that Pantone provides, some of us need to lighten the shade up, or darken it in order to achieve the right look. With that being said, I’ve selected the color Peapod. According to Pantone, it is a yellow-green hue that is vibrant and happy, which is what spring is all about. In the board below you will find diff... |

Sarah's Peapod Baby Shower Cupcake Stand Our popular pea in a pod baby shower theme topper cake returned this week for a weekend baby shower celebration. The top of the cake is highlighted with a green peapod. Inside the peapod are 2 baby boy heads popping out. Blue blossoms and a yellow flower umbrella fills the remaining decorations. The cake tier is covered in whtie fondant with bl... |

I have to admit, looking at weddings day in and day out is both a curse and a blessing. My bar for what is fabulous has been raised considerably and I’ve become a bit of a wedding snob. Well, a total wedding snob if I’m being honest. I love all different styles of weddings…$5,000 backyard affairs and $50,000 uber-chic soirees…as long as the details are spot on beautiful. And it seriously doesn’t get any better than this wedding shoot that the hugely talented Lisa Lefkowitz shot and the equally incredible Gloria Wong styled. Here are a few more details from Gloria… We used a fun, p... |
What's with all the twins these days? Twins touch our lives in many ways because they are everywhere. Even I have twins! And in my twin's class there are 5 sets of twins! The most common types of twins are identical and fraternal and even within these types there are more types. Think about it, in your inner circle, you must have at least one set of twins in your family or clique or at work. The twin invasion has begun. Could you have twins? According to wikipedia.com, about 1 in 90 births results in twins. Fraternal can run in families but identical can happen to anyone, as it did to me! T... |
How cute is this topper cake? The design is based on the baby in the pod topper cake we did back in May. Only this topper includes 3 babies to celebrate upcoming triplets. Thanks to this feedback from Kira. Glad to hear the cake was a hit: We were at the shower where this cake was served…and it was INCREDIBLE! The cake was the centerpiece of the night (aside from the mom-to-be, of course). It was wonderful. Thank you so much! ... |
