With a successful catering company, a new book and a wide array of celebrity followers, you would never guess that celebrated New York Caterer Peter Callahan used to be an investment banker. “In my mid 20′s I very spontaneously left Wall Street to start a small catering co. The owner of the firm said I was the dumbest person he ever met to leave his company and all the future affluence it afforded. For a while I thought he was right….” Peter remembers. “Then, a creative streak I didn’t know I had kicked in — and I started dreaming up all sorts of new pa... |
Callahan Catering always does the most amazing job! Not only are their treats beautifully displayed and creatively served, they are also delicious! Though I've worked with Peter Callahan many times over the last few years, he still surprises me. Somehow I have never seen his teeny tiny Coca-Cola bottles equipped with miniature straw (it's actually a rum and Coke shot. so beware) -- it's AMAZING. Somehow the only photo I could find of these is of the one sitting on my desk (that's a nickel next to it so you can see the size). They were obviously a favorite of our guests, no surprise there! Jennifer Callahan, one of our Asheville, North Carolina wedding photographers, has always loved the commonality of human lives and at the same time, those things that make us unique and specific in the world. With that in mind, she likes her photographs to reflect an intimate quality that dignifies each person as an important human story. We think that Jennifer did an impeccable job with her goals in her latest engagement shoot. Here are some of our favorites from the lovely couple’s Southern wedding photos: “Rather than imposing a strict approach to the photography, I respond... |
Courtney Callahan Paper Chicago, Illinois If I weren’t a blogger or wedding planner, I’m pretty sure paper would be my thing. I don’t know what it is about those natural fibers and a beautiful design, but I know I love it. Courtney’s designs, besides being just that (beautiful), are custom and unique. She takes the time to know her clients and understand their style, a quality I recommend couples look for when seeking out a custom stationery designer. Plus, the girl look a leap of faith to start her business – one that truly paid off. How did you get started in the world of paper a... |

Bite sized foods, don’t you just love them? Personally, I think appetizers are some of my favorite foods at weddings or any party really. I love the variety and textures, opportunities to try something new and being able to nibble on some of my favorites. And I think that most of us could agree that we may have pigged out a time or two on all the goodness at cocktail hour with hardly any room for the entree. Now, not only can you make a meal out of bite sized food but you can have breakfast, lunch and dessert served up as well. We had some fun tracking down some of these little treats and he... |
