This weekend I’ve been having a play around with the colours included in the Pantone spring colour lineup - love all of them! There are endless combinations to consider for your wedding, all fresh and pretty and effortlessly current. This is one of my favourites (and so easy to use) - trendy aqua always makes an impact, especially against the palest of pinks, and russet provides a great neutral contrast. It works perfectly with pretty garden wedding details, cupcakes, chandeliers, ruffles and, of course, peonies. (Will I ever get tired of these? Don’t think so!) Just add gues...

  • If you couldn’t tell from our Friday post, we are totally into brights right now. Maybe because it’s a million degrees or maybe because we just got our full lot of Cynthia Rowley bridesmaids dresses in and LOVE her colors. Either way, we are going to run with it based on some of the recent trends we are seeing. One big trend we love is native inspiration: serape stripes and Navajo prints. It’s all over the ready to wear market, and the best way to interpret this trend into bridal is COLOR: rich russets, sky blues, and hot campfire oranges. I love the way this Poppies and Posies bou...

The Beaverton Farmers Market asked Elizabeth and I to collaborate on a spring meal made with ingredients from their market. Liz and I hit the stalls early Saturday which was their opening day for the season. I picked up some $5 lilacs for the table and Liz concoted a delicious menu. Here are the details: Mini sandwiches made from ham , chive havarti cheese, and a quail egg on a baguette with pea vines. Goat cheese, blue cheese, roasted asparagus and bacon on olive bread. Salad of dandelion greens, pea vines, and watercress. Homemade chips from Russet potatoes, olive oil, rosemary and sea...

Filed under: Bridal BeautyOn your wedding day, you want to look your best -- or better! But the wrong hair color can leave you looking tired and washed out and drab. How do you know what color will work best for you? Celebrity stylist David Evangelista says to start by determining your skin tone -- is it cool or warm? Cool tones are pale with pink undertones, dark brown, or olive. Warm tones, on the other hand, have peach, brown, or golden undertones. ("Quick tip: Another way to figure out if you have a warm or a cool skin tone is to look at the veins in your arm. If they look blue, chan...
