Although I can't typically do extras for brides that I did not make their invitations, seating charts are usually the exception. I can *almost* always squeeze in a seating chart. Here is an example of that for Erin's wedding! To see her chart and all of my seating charts, click here....

So I do want to have assigned seats at my wedding and I love how place card tables look before anyone takes their card. But by the end of it I think they look bare and not very pretty. So I saw this and thought about going this direction. My only concern is that if I order this to have enough time to be made and something last minute happens and I have to add or take off someones name I might be in trouble. Is anyone using this type of seating chart? I also wanted to name the tables after like bowl games and things that pertain to my FI’s football career but thought that might not look very...

Top 8 Reasons why you should do a Seating Chart instead of Placecards or Escort Cards1. It is a piece of artwork that serves as decoration the entire night 2. Most of my brides hang them in their home after the wedding 3. Easier to read and at eye level 4. Placecards are messy - they are left all over the reception area 5. A placecard table looks good only until the first card is taken 6. Placecards are typically a smaller font and are harder to find your name 7. Seating charts are considered "green" - you aren't wasting all of the cardstock for placecards 8. Typically more cost effective for ...

  • We figured out our seating chart thanks for the handy seating tool on WeddingWire.  We hammered it out one night and hooked up our laptop to our TV screen so we could both look at the tables and ensure we had the right people together.  We took a picture - here’s our reception hall mock-up on the TV!  Thought it was neat. ...

  • The seating chart was a part of the planning process that I wasn’t looking forward to. And unfortunately, if you have a specific vision and you want your vendors to deliver your dream wedding, then you need to have a seating chart in place. I designed the following seating chart using M’s (Martha Stewart) wedding tools section on her website. I was able to play around this feature and virtually design how our wedding venue will look like on a logistical standpoint. Maga Bud's Seating Chart with Martha Stewart Wedding tools You can take a tour of her seating chart feature by clicking ...

  • Seating Cart by Documents and DesignsAfter another weekend of escort cards, I am reminded how much I wish all my clients would use seating charts instead. Its easier on you, your guests and your wedding planner! This one lists all the guests names alphabetically and then lists what table they are at. Your planner or site coordinator can the help direct guests in the direction of that table. Love this!...

  • As much as I love a cute escort card table, I also love the idea of a seating chart for your wedding guests, like this one featured recently on 100 Layer Cake. 100 Layer Cake There have been a lot of creative ideas featured recently on a lot of wedding blogs out there, with different variations.  This particular one would probably work best with a smaller guest list, so not everyone was crowding around it.  BUT, I guess at that point it doesn’t matter, seeing as you would have guests crowding around a table to find their name on a card. Anyhoo, I think this is a fun and alternative way to...

  • One of the Wedding Paper Divas girls recently attended a wedding that ran into a slight hiccup. A seating chart was made denoting where each guest should sit, but since the wedding planner was running late the staff failed to implement it. Instead, the reception became a free for all, with guests sitting wherever they please, the bride and grooms’ families complaining that they weren’t permitted to sit up front and waiters thoroughly confused as to which table had three prime ribs and which table only had two. In short, it turned into a bit of a fiasco. This type of debacle begs the quest...
