Thanks to the release of Pantone’s famous color report, I am excited to introduce one of Spring/Summer 2011 colors: Silver Peony. Silver Peony is a very pale shade of pink that is infused with a few gray tones. This is one of the new “nude hues” which when paired with this season’s new palette, will make everyone’s jaw drop. Pairing this with another neutral or a vivid hue will be really beautiful. Enjoy this pink! -Samantha Photo Credits: row 1: Blushing in Pink dress by ouma row 2: Randee heels by Badgley Mischka via Slightly Obsessed Bride | Chanel Necklace via Bag, Borrow o...

Ah, peonies. I love peonies and I love the next Pantone Color I selected to feature this week; Silver Peony. You can see the full Pantone Spring 2011 Color report which highlights all the gorgeous colors we are seeing on the runway and not starting to see in weddings. Silver Peony is a nude-ish, beigy blush color. It's soft and girly and feminine and I was so happy to see this as one of the colors they are predicting in fashion and events this year. We just saw this color on the runway at The Golden Globes.  And we will see it in bridesmaids dresses this spring. We will see it in linen...

By Mary Oliver This morning the green fists of the peonies are getting ready to break my heart as the sun rises, as the sun strokes them with his old, buttery fingers and they open — pools of lace, white and pink — and all day the black ants climb over them, boring their deep and mysterious holes into the curls, craving the sweet sap, taking it away to their dark, underground cities — and all day under the shifty wind, as in a dance to the great wedding, the flowers bend their bright bodies, and tip their fragrance to the air, and rise, their red stems holding all that dampness and rec...

I have to return a call to a florist tomorrow, so have been looking at pictures of flowers. I am pretty much decided that I want a bouquet of peonies...I am in love with how lush they always look. I am still sticking with the all white idea, maybe with a few green berries stuck in there (like one of the first ones I found). The bouquet above has both peonies and ranunculus, but I just want the peonies, like this one:...

In envisioning my wedding with my previous theme in mind, I thought I would carry a green bouquet. Now, with this new theme of "A Black & White Soiree" I am liking the idea of a bouquet of white peonies like the ones on the first row below: (all images via The Knot)My bridesmaids will be wearing black dresses and I am now toying with what color of bouquets I will have them carry. I am in love with the light pink and raspberry peony bouquets above in the second row, but my accent color will be plum, not pink.So it's back to the picture galleries for the bridesmaids' bouquets, but I think I'...

The peony, to me is truly the definition of romance. So when it came time for the letter P in our flower meaning series, of course I had to pick the peony. It has a large full bud. As you can see from the picture above, it is beautiful closed up or fully open. Peonies are known to mean happy marriage. So it's the perfect choice for wedding flowers.Photo...

One of my favorites. I adore the the fluffy texture and the size of the blooms. Each flower seems to float. Peonies are in season now.The peony is named after Paeon, a student of  Asclepius, the Greek God of medicine and healing. The ancient story reads that Asclepius was jealous of his pupil; Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the pe...
