There is something about breakfast that I just love. Do you know those people? The ones who say they hate breakfast and refuse to eat it? I can’t even imagine what that’s like! If I could only eat one meal a day it would be breakfast, no contest. I love brunch the day after an all night wedding celebration or for a sweet birthday celebration with your girlfriends. Basically, if you call it breakfast or brunch I am sold. Hook, line and sinker. (And if anyone cares, wild Maine blueberry pancakes and buckwheat Belgian waffles are my favorites.) {Photo by Our Labor of Love via Once Wed.} {Ph... |
I super big puffy heart breakfast. I *must* eat it every morning or I am one crabby lady (just ask the Mr.). I especially love breakfast for dinner. There is something so backwardsly delicious about bacon, eggs and hash browns at 7 p.m. Plus, I seriously like puff pastries (see: croquembouche), particularly for breakfast. So, it’s no surprise that I fell in love with the idea of a Donut Truck the second I saw this: Image courtesy of Jen Fariello via Classic Bride Deli trucks and taco trucks are making appearances at weddings, too (just ask Miss Stripes). But, I cannot help but have a h... |
Start your Monday the right way with a little breakfast in bed.... |
When Erik was home with me the first week with Juliet, breakfast was my favorite meal. We would hold our baby while we ate in our favorite nook in the kitchen and she slept in the quiet morning hours. The last day before Erik went back to work he volunteered to make breakfast and surprised me with that beautiful plate filled with bacon, eggs, an english muffin and fruit. I ate the entire plate. Have I mentioned how ravenous breastfeeding makes me? I wasn't prepared for that! This evening a few girlfriends are bringing over dinner. I'm going to have my first glass o... |
I was a very lucky gal the other weekend and got to have breakfast at Tiffanys...literally. My friend Jill's sister bid on a private breakfast event at a charity silent auction for 10 of her friends, and I got to go as Jill's date!As a girly girl I must admit there was something kind of magical about being in Tiffany before normal store hours for your own private breakfast and the best part...trying on all the sparkly gorgeousness they have to offer.I managed to find and purchase one of the cheapest items in the store (a pendant necklace on a black cord from the Notes collection), but I actual... |
This morning, I’m starting you off with a little inspiration! After this crazy week, I’m feeling like I need to have a long sleep in session this weekend, and breakfast in bed might be called for. Speaking of sleeping in, how romantic is this board? Our forevers go together? Um. Yes. I believe they do. Sources left to right, top to bottom: 1. Chris Craymer 2. Flickr 3. Johnny Miller 4. I invited a friend over for morning tea today. I got up and drank some pre-tea to get enough caffeine to un-morningize enough to bake scones for us. I LOVE scones. But not always. I remember tasting them at a coffee shop and be confused about why someone would want to eat dry crumbly flour with their hot beverage. My momma used to bake biscuits all the time. Biscuits are just the yummiest at all times of the day, with jelly or tomatoes or just by themselves with butter. (ohhh butter biscuits) and once I figured out that scones were just sweet biscuits, well, I found my new favorite treat. I ... |
Filed under: Cakes and CateringRecently, my husband and I attended an evening wedding, and the dinner time reception featured a breakfast buffet. I thought this was a wonderful touch. The couple was a big fan of breakfast, and serving a breakfast reception fit beautifully with who they are. It fit well with my tastes, too. Think make-your-own omelets, bacon, pancakes, waffles with warm syrup, biscuits and jelly. Delicious! It truly can make an elegant menu any time of day, particularly for winter weddings when comfort foods are high on everyone's list. And, this unique offering served as an ic... |
