Still think snapdragons are the floral cousins of Venus fly traps? Silly Bridezilla! Watch this clip of Miss B interviewing the creators of Snapdragon, a twisty new hair product (and neat bridesmaid gift idea) made by twins who studied millinery in Britain. Interesting! ...

  • Today’s post is dedicated to my Nana “Wales” – called so because um… she is from Red Dragon country (she has been called that since I could talk and it kind of stuck, she even refers to herself as that now bless) My Nana met my Grandpa on the bus. Literally. He was the bus driver and she hopped on with her sister Milly and announced something to the effect of “He’s a bit of alright”…. and the rest as they say is history. My Grandpa passed away over twenty years ago and my Nana has been on her own ever since. That’s an awful long time to be by yourself isn’t it? When I ...

  • Today, having a tattoo is pretty common. I have one. When I was four and getting ready for my preschool graduation, I told my pre-K teacher that I wanted to be a tattoo artist when I grew up. While it turns out that I didn’t grow up to be a tattoo artist, my affinity for tattoos has not wavered from what my four year old self imagined. If acting didn’t frown on having large of tattoos, I’m sure I would have more. I have always wanted to have a traditional Chinese dragon that covers my back. Being born the year of the dragon in the Chinese Zodiac and having a close relationsh...

Remember how I said I was done with my fruit-spiration posts….two weeks ago? I’m not. I can’t help myself. I was at the store this past week when spotted the section of exotic fruits. I’ve seen dragon fruit before, but it’s never looked too appealing. This week though it was bright fuchsia pink and lime green and it was so gorgeous I just had to buy a piece and taste it. I told my boyfriend that I *needed* the fruit and he begrudgingly bought it for me. He wasn’t too thrilled that it was 10 dollars. Yes, I spent ten dollars on this piece of fruit (the things I do in the name of re...

  • This is not a book review. This is a real-life story about friendship, loyalty and courage. You see, I have had my very own lady with a down-the-back dragon tattoo since I was sixteen years old, long before I had ever heard of Stieg Larsson. This lady is one of my best girls Maria (also know as “Naughty” for various reasons that will become apparent), one of the bravest, brightest, and funniest people I have ever had the pleasure of calling my friend. Maria and I met whilst working at Morgan – a now-bankrupt fashion label that was a concession in our city centre House of Fraser. ...

  • Orchid Boy plays keyboard in this pretty awesome cover band called The Party Dragons. A couple of years ago Orchid Boy and his musician friends decided to get together and put on a one-time-only show featuring some 70s funk, 80s…whatever you call that…and some random Beach Boys stuff. They rehearsed a total of maybe, I dunno, 10 times within a few weeks and went on stage at their local dive. The show was kickass. Everyone had an awesome time and they played amazingly well considering how few times they actually got together. Orchid Boy  had brought up the idea of having the band p...

Baby announcements are just plain fun! We love the adorable little dragon artwork that was submitted by Union Street Papery. He looks like he’s excited about the new arrival too, as he playfully bounds over the granby pattern. The use of the same pattern for the liner was a great addition when chosen to be printed in reverse. inks: wisteria + sage | font: worthington | paper: 2-ply ivory | printing: letterpress | offset liner: granby in wisteria | card size: S5-SQ | customization #: 16022 | ...

Middle Caicos which is part of the Turks and Caicos Islands is about a hour and a half journey from where we live on the island of Provodenciales. Begin by taking the ferry to North Caicos, hire a car and then venture over the bumpy causeway to Middle Caicos. Dragon Cay in Mudjin Harbour was by far our favourite beach to visit during our babymoon at six months back in March. I would love to go back and stay at Blue Horizon! All shot on medium format Contax 645, mixture here of Ektar and Portra 160 ...

  • An elegant garland of delicate flowers, shy lanterns, and swirling smoke. Teng, our most recent design, is inspired by the iconic images of traditional Asian cultures. Columns like Japanese kanji creep up the sides of these regal invitations or  sneak across the page like a Chinese New Year dragon. The Thai lotus blossoms in this design and the Vietnamese festival lantern tassels hang down among the flowers. Where have we seen these images before? The misty forests of Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams, the peaks of Mount Huashan, the busy streets and fields during the Harvest Festival. Seal you...
