The Apple iPad is a new touchpad that is quite simply a hybrid between an iPhone and a laptop. Using the touch screen, brides can use the internet to plan her wedding, use a wedding planning app such as My Wedding Concierge to locate wedding vendors, jot down notes in a notepad, or schedule appointments with her calendar.
Measuring at 9.5″ x 7.5″ x 0.5″ and weighing only 1.5 pounds, the iPad can easily be carried anywhere.
Every app that is currently available in the App Store will work on the iPad. Those apps designed for use on the iPhone will take up a small portion of the screen, or they can be enlarged to full size with some slight pixelation.
Many wedding photographers have been talking about creating new photography packages that would include the iPad. All your photos would be available on the iPad and you would flip through the “album” just as you would a real album. It would definitely be a neat album to have, but being as technologically inclined as I am, I still prefer the look and feel of a real photo album.
The models of the iPad without 3G connectivity will be in stores at the end of March, while 3G-connected models will be available at the end of April. To decide which one you want – if you’re going to use the iPad primarily from home and you have wifi, then go with the wi-fi model. If you plan on taking it everywhere, then opt for the 3G model. They are priced at $499+.
We will be developing new apps for wedding planning that will be specific to the iPad so keep a lookout for those in the near future! Would also love to hear if you’re planning on getting one. Why or why not?

I do not think I will purchase an ipad myself because although everyone says its a cross between an iphone and a laptop it does not allow to make a call so it cannot be in comparison with Apple iPhone. Unfortunately, it can’t also be compared to a laptop since its features lack the flexibility of what laptops can do. Heard that you can’t really multitask either,.. so I don’t think I’ll purchase one myself but if I got it as a gift I wouldn’t turn it away cause it looks SO cool =P
