Looking for 5 Guest Bloggers!

We’re looking to add 5 Guest Bloggers to our team! My Wedding Concierge is growing at an incredible pace! We are about to turn our wedding blog search engine into an iPhone/iPad App. The Android App is not far behind. You must currently have a blog and write on a regular basis – we will index it free of charge for you as well as place your banner ad on our blog’s sidebar. You will get great exposure for your business on our site and apps. You will be committing to a minimum of 1 article per week. You can blog on trends, create inspiration boards, wedding technology, wedding marketing – really anything your heart desires.

We will be hitting a minimum of 225,000 pageviews this month and I expect it to skyrocket when the Apps get released.

Luxury Brands for Less – Bridesmaid Dresses & Bridal Party Gifts

Much to my husband’s chagrin, I love to shop. And to my wallet’s delight, these wonderful shopping sites have popped up to save me a ton of money on luxury brands sometimes with discounts up to 80%. Brands that I’ve come across include: Pour La Victoire, 7 for All Mankind, Spa Chakra, Furla, Betsey Johnson, and a ton others. They have some gorgeous gowns that can double as bridesmaid dresses – I’m sure your bridesmaids will thank you for saving them a lot of money, and beautiful shoes as well. If you keep your eyes open, you can easily find bridesmaid gifts, cufflinks for your groom to be, and mother of the bride dresses as well.

Ideeli is free to join, but they have an upgraded membership that allows you to shop sales one hour before it’s open to it’s free members. They have their Red Sales every so often and on those days, they slash the prices up to as much as 90% off. The sales start at 9am PST every morning and you only have 10 minutes to check out once you place an item in your cart. But, items “fly off the shelves” fast, so if you want it, you’ll have to check out even faster!

Gilt is another favorite site of mine. Actually, their iPad app is to die for. I check it every single morning at 9am PST. Their user interface is so easy to use. Shopping on the app is a breeze. The only thing that I dislike is that they only allow you to purchase 5 items at a time. I know. Should I really be buying more than 5 items? Their branding is beyond wonderful – they’ve thought of everything – when my order arrived, I thought it was Christmas time. Everything was wrapped so beautifully in black tissue paper, with a black notecard printed in gold foil that thanked me for my order. They even had printing done on the inside of the cardboard box. This site has gorgeous everything. And once again, you can easily find bridesmaid dresses, gifts, flower girl dresses, and more.

Another favorite site of mine is One King’s Lane. They’ve featured Bridal Bar’s bedsheets and Delphine Studio’s Letterpress Stationery just recently. This site has gorgeous furniture and furnishings. I’m looking forward to their Mitchell Gold sale on Thursday. LOVE their slipcover sofas! They launch sales events every weekday starting at 8 am PST/11 am EST. Each sale lasts a total of 72 hours. Quantities are limited, so shop early to avoid missing out on something you love. If you want a $10 discount code, leave a comment and I’ll email you one.

PSA: Breast Cancer

My mom was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer today. She’s only 61. What’s so incredibly scary is that the 2cm tumor didn’t show up on her mammogram. The tumor is deep within her breast and is barely palpable. She was due for her yearly mammogram in two weeks and was doing her monthly self-exam. If she didn’t know what she was feeling for, she would have missed the lump or anything that was out of the ordinary. Her mammogram would have missed it as well and wouldn’t have caught the cancer until WAY too late – maybe as late as her next mammogram in a year? Those are some scary and sobering thoughts.

She eats well, doesn’t drink nor smoke, and overall, takes pretty good care of herself. This dreadful disease really can and will strike anybody.

Ladies, please take a moment and educate yourself on how to do a self exam.

Sneak Peek of our Wedding Blog Search Engine iPhone/iPad App

My Wedding Concierge Revolutionizes How Brides Find Wedding Vendors

We have been feverishly working on coding up an AMAZING App. We will be releasing an iPhone as well as an iPad app for our wedding blog search engine. It won’t only search through wedding blogs for bridal inspiration – we’ve added a geo-locator tool for brides. She can pull up on a map and zoom in on where she is located at that exact moment. What comes next is revolutionary for the wedding world. Pin drops will now dot the map around her to show her all of the wedding vendors who are indexed in our wedding blog search engine. She touches the pin head and up comes photographs of either the vendor’s work or photos of the reception site. She can read a caption on each photograph and click on the “More” button if there are blog articles associated with that vendor or review on reception site for brides to see the “Real Weddings” that have happened there! Here are some screenshots – I’m sure it’ll explain better:

Bride can geo-locate herself via GPS functionality and she can zoom in/zoom out to see all vendors in her area.

She will also get to see blog articles that are associated with you, your work, and location. Now, here’s the best part, we are making this available INTERNATIONALLY. Yes, all the vendors that have been contacting me from the UK and Australia especially, will be able to be on here! Our app will also be released internationally.

Making Things Happen #MTH2010 – 6 Month Anniversary

Wow. It’s been 6 months since I attended Lara Casey’s Making Things Happen Intensive in Los Angeles. So many things have happened since then. I’ve taken a hard look at My Wedding Concierge and defined exactly what I wanted it to represent. I’ve learned that AUTHENTICITY and TRANSPARENCY would become the most important building blocks of My Wedding Concierge. I’ve CONQUERED my fear of being unable to be a GREAT MOM to my two young children, ADORING WIFE to my most WONDERFUL HUSBAND and growing My Wedding Concierge to where I want it to be. I CAN do it all. I feared FAILURE, but learned that without failure, I would never know SUCCESS. I was distracted and am now focused. I have chosen to be REMARKABLE.

I’ve connected with some amazing people who have helped guide me to where I am today. I met with the AMAZING Sean Low who is so incredibly generous with his time, infinite wisdom, and insights into this business that it would have taken me forever to figure out even 10% on my own. Lara has helped me make my brand stronger and understand that my brand needs to mirror the audience that I want to attract. I plan on attending Engage!10 at the Breakers to further learn how to become a leader in what we are doing in and for the wedding industry.

With all this said, what exactly have we accomplished in the last 6 months?

We’ve partnered up with some of the most talented wedding invitation designers to design our custom iphone apps for wedding vendors.

We’ve finished designing and perfecting our wedding blog search engine – brides can find just about anything she’s looking for without having to filter through useless posts that other search engines have.

We’ll be offering trending reports real soon to the wedding industry – we are able to see and will make available exactly what brides are searching for.

We’re now designing custom iPhone Apps for wedding vendors that stay consistent with their branding.

We’re creating a native iphone and iPad app for our wedding blog search engine – Lucia from http://www.utterlyengaged.com who I met at MTH2010 designed the app for us. Here’s a sneak peak of it:

Our My Wedding Concierge Vendor Guide has surpassed 40,000 downloads by brides.

We’re on track to for a record breaking month at over 200,000 unique pageviews.

We have a lot more gamechangers that will be revealed REAL soon!

We’re changing our directory listing business model from a pay per listing to a Pay it Forward model.

We’ve designed and ordered some spiffy business cards that really set us apart – It definitely has that WOW factor! Thanks Lara and Jeff for pushing me in this direction!

I can’t wait and see what the next 6 months has in store for us!
