I am completely humbled by my friends over at Utterly Engaged and Ever Ours. After seeing the devastation in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, they quickly rallied the entire wedding blogging community to come together for a day of silence and prayer They have selected Shelter Box as their charity of choice and each $1000 raised, they will be sending over a disaster relief tent for an extended family, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other vital items. Their goal was $5500 and in under 4 days, they have already raised over $21,000. Every little bit counts – you can click here to help out. Thank you.

I think everyone’s heart is in the right place with this. I’d like to ask bloggers who are not posting however, (and blogreaders!) to use their time contacting Representatives and the Japanese government in order to urge the Japanese government to permit food and supplies airdrops to Northeast Japan where people are now starving, a week after the earthquake. See a video interview with a Japan scholar on my site: http://mlleparadis.blogspot.com that explains why.
Thanks if you can help!
