Disney Cruise Line – Destination Wedding and Honeymoon

I have always loved Disney – all things Disney in fact. I’ve been to Disneyland countless times and have had an annual pass for as long as I can remember. I’ve even been to Disney World a few times even though it’s on the other side of the US. Our wedding cake topper was even Mickey and Minnie in wedding attire even though the wedding itself wasn’t Disney themed. Now that we have two children of our own, we’ve gone on to cruising on the Disney Cruise Line. It’s always been a magical time, but this last trip our most amazing one to date. Nearly two years ago, I knew that they were bringing the Disney Wonder out to Los Angeles and saw a nice itinerary from Los Angeles to Vancouver for 7 days/6 nights. My travel agent also informed me that their Royal Suite was still available and if I wanted it, I would have to let them know right away. I jumped on the chance and invited my parents to come along for the week as I’ve heard of some people waiting 5 years for this room to become available.
“The Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah is a sprawling 1,029 square-foot stateroom decked from floor to ceiling in palatial splendor. An unparalleled combination of luxury, personal attention and sophistication come together in our most spacious quarters—featuring 2 glamorous bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, an expansive media library, pantry, wet bar and dining salon. The rich decor incorporates fine art, vintage Disney hallmarks, custom fittings and fine wood furnishings. With enough room to sleep 7 with ease, a Concierge Royal Suite with a 40 foot Verandah magically transforms your cruise adventure into a fairytale fantasy.”
Perfect for Honeymooners, this palatial suite has a wonderful Concierge team that will works tirelessly to make your trip a real fairytale. Weddings can happen in several locations on the ship and is taken care of via the team at Disney Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons. They will work together with you to create the destination wedding and honeymoon of your dreams. Private dining is available in your suite where they will set up your dinner table complete with tablecloth and silverware. The Royal Suite is also the only suite where you are permitted to order from Palo, their exclusive adult only gourmet restaurant.
Aboard the ship, there are plenty of activities and entertainment geared towards adults. Their spa is a wonderful oasis of relaxation – try a couple’s massage, or if you itinerary includes a stop by Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island in the Bahamas, enjoy an open air massage on the beach in one of their cabanas!
Once you board, you will meet with your personal Concierge team who will take care of your every need. If you can imagine it, they will try and make it happen! We had asked about a bridge tour and were told that due to security reasons, they were not allowed to do them. The next morning, we got a personal invitation from the Captain’s assistant for a tour the next day!
It was by chance that the Royal Wedding – the wedding of the century would also be on while we were on the trip. We had a great time watching it in the middle of the night with other Royal Wedding watchers – where else would we be able to watch the Royal Wedding surrounded by princesses?!
All in all, we had a grand time and can’t wait to cruise with Disney again – Disney outdid themselves in the level of service that they provide and I highly recommend them to any Disney fan looking for a fun and relaxing honeymoon!

WriteShot: Wedding Photojournalists that Capture True Love Stories

The wedding album has long been a cherished memento of one of the most important days in a couple’s life together. But as the memories fade and the album is passed on through the generations, details of this important occasion, and the couple’s journey to get there, can be lost. That’s where WriteShot comes in.
writeshot photojournalists love story photographers
Founded by photographers and journalists Natasha Chornesky and Chris Cozzone, WriteShot delivers not only magazine-quality photos of a couple’s wedding day; Chornesky and Cozzone document the whole love story—from the first meeting through the courtship and engagement—capturing every detail of the wedding week and day, through extensive interviews with the couple, their family and friends. The complete story is then written, laid out with accompanying photographs and professionally printed and bound into an heirloom-quality, Taschen-style book that uniquely captures each couple’s personality, documenting their love story for generations to come.

Cozzone and Chornesky commit to only two weddings per month so they can spend one full week interviewing and photographing each couple in the days leading up to their wedding, and another week laying out the final copy and photographs. Each 10”x10” book is completely custom and contains an average of 100 heavy-stock, glossy pages of text and images. Photos from the couple’s dating life or honeymoon can also be incorporated.

“What we create is not a wedding album — it’s a book. It’s really the story of the couple—how they found each other, fell in love and got married,” said Chornesky. “We get to know our clients really, really well. We know who’s important to them and who drives them crazy. So when it comes time to assemble the book, we are very comfortable telling their story the way they want it told. We submit proofs for approval before the book goes to print, but honestly, we get very, very few edits.”

Honeymoon Hotspot: Marquis Los Cabos – Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

MWC Honeymoon Hotspots Banner
One of my favorite places to vacation is Cabo San Lucas. About a two hour flight from San Diego, Cabo San Lucas offers stunning scenery, gorgeous weather, and a myriad of exciting attractions. This exotic locale has long been the playground of the rich and the famous. Flying in, you’ll see rows of private jets that have been chartered by celebrities. At the airport, private cars and Hummers are waiting to whisk you away to your hotel.

My absolute favorite hotel in Cabo is the luxurious 5 Star Marquis Los Cabos.
The staff is warm, welcoming, and completely unpretentious. All of the rooms have the most gorgeous views of the spectacular Sea of Cortez. This is wonderful place for a relaxing honeymoon. Reserve a private casita for you and your beloved – they each have a private plunge pool, are about 1600 square feet, and you are pampered with luxurious Bulgari amenities. Their spa is one of the top spas in Mexico. They use indigenous ingredients from Mexico’s rich land and sea to create rejuvenating spa treatments and therapies. It was so relaxing that my husband fell asleep during our couple’s massage.
Their infinity pool is gorgeous. I can lay at the edge and watch the waves from the Sea of Cortez crashing onto the shoreline forever. It’s simply mesmerizing.

Their 5 star diamond restaurant, Canto del Mar is a 20-seat French restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and is open for dinner. Serving only the freshest ingredients of the day, printed menus are not found at the restaurant since their menu changes every four days. Local fish and vegetables from local grocers are highlighted and our server was more than willing to accommodate my finicky tastes.
Marquis Los Cabos is also a great location for destination weddings. From blissful beach wedding to gala banquets, their wedding coordinators can help you plan the destination wedding of your dreams.
Last but not least, stop and say hello to Ella Messerli. She’s the GM of the resort and so incredibly sweet. I can’t wait to go back and visit again – this time, introducing my two little ones to the beauty of Cabo San Lucas.
