Google+ for the Wedding Industry – Marketing to Brides

I’ve been playing with Google+ for about a week now and sending invites to wedding vendors who want in on this new social media platform. I’ve been asked many times on twitter and facebook whether I think that it’s necessary to join yet ANOTHER social media site. As little time as I have to devote to yet another platform, I think that google+ is one that we need to pay attention to. Do I think that it’s going to overtake facebook? I don’t think so. I think that it will however, divide early adopters vs. late adopters. Like they say, the early bird gets the worm. Get in there. Learn how to use it, and learn how to use it to market to your brides. It has a lot of buzz right now and the ability to communicate to your own group via circles and not have to include all of your other brides/friends/vendors in the conversation is a huge plus in my book.
I see the ability for you, as a vendor, to have conversations with individual brides in her own circle that doesn’t include spamming all your friends. You can upload photos to her circle and she can reply to the same conversations in complete privacy. Everything is more visual and all in one place. I also find that the user interface was also very well thought out and easy to use. With Facebook fan pages, Google has been rumored to have coming soon, brand pages. That’s another reason to jump onboard now so you’re familiar with how the whole system works.
And one more thing about the advantage of Google+ over facebook? Bye bye Farmville and Mafia Wars!!!
If you already have a google+ account, an easy way to create a vanity account is: visit: gplus.to enter a username, add your google account number and voila, it’s done!
Mine is: http://gplus.to/wedding if you want to connect with me.
If you would like an invite to google+, please leave a comment here and I’ll email you one right away!

We’re Thrilled To Announce the Launch of Ad Concierge

Ads that don't look like ads generate a much higher click through rate!

Introducing: My Wedding Concierge’s Ad Concierge
You decide what words you would like to be found under. If the spot is available, you
may purchase it on a monthly basis. There are no contracts. Photos must be
contextually relevant to the search term that you’re purchasing
for.
Where do your ads appear?
They appear on our website, and our Inspiration Engine iPhone and iPad Apps. The
spots available are the #1, #6, #11, #16, #21, and #26.
Why are only those spots available?
We want the best user experience for brides – a site that is cluttered with ads
simply doesn’t keep her attention, however strategically placed
ads that are relevant to her original search term will increase the number of click
throughs that your ad will get.
Why do you increment by 5s?
On our Inspiration Engine iPhone and iPad Apps, we show brides 5 search results at a
time. When she goes to click on the “Show More
Articles†tab, the very next search result will be your ad. By placing
your ad in the first section of each set of search results, you’ll
have a much higher rate of click throughs.
Where does the click through go to?
It can go to your website, blog, storefront, wherever you’d like -
but the more relevant it is to the original search term, the better.
Reach more brides!
Our brides find us organically on Google through our extensive network of search
engine optimized pages, our iPhone and iPad Apps, via our strategic partnerships with
other wedding websites, and from editorial coverage including The Wall Street
Journal, Glamour.com, Portfolio.com, Investor’s Business Journal,
AMEX Open Forum, and more!
Brides are on our site to find YOU. They are actively searching for wedding
businesses and through our large network of hand curated wedding blogs for ideas on
how to plan her wedding.
Target the right bride in the right context:
Using the right keywords, we can match you up with the bride who is looking for you.
For example, if she is in the mindset of looking for inspiration boards on barn
weddings in San Diego, and your reception site is a barn in San Diego, your business
is exactly what she is looking for and the chances that she’ll
click on your ad increases.
How much does it cost?
Rates start at an affordable $50/Month with no commitments. Words and phrases are
available on a first come, first served basis. To reserve your words, contact us at: advertising@my-wedding-concierge.com

My Wedding Concierge was Featured in the Wall Street Journal!

Just getting around to this a few days late. My Wedding Concierge was featured on the Wall Street Journal for our innovative iPhone/iPad Inspiration Engine Apps and they loved how we drive traffic to lesser known wedding blogs! SO exciting!
We were featured on their website’s tech section and they also did a video review. I’m thinking that we’re achieving our goal of driving traffic to small wedding bloggers if the Wall st. journal thinks so! Bravo to my sweet husband for being the mastermind behind all our cool and innovative technology!
